Winter blues? Look ahead!

It's that time of year when (festive cheer aside) we are getting a bit tired of the short days, the grey skies and the endless drizzle. So at Duncan Petersen we're thinking ahead to the spring. We've just finished the newest addition to our In a Box series – Cycle Escapes London is a brilliant new guide showcasing original cycling routes in and around the capital, endorsed by Boris Johnson, Mayor of London. Due to hit the shelves in March 2016, we believe that it will give London's growing hoards of cyclists some splendid spring days out.

If you fancy a trip further afield, we are busily updating Charming Small Hotels: Germany and Charming Small Hotels: Spain. They have new, redesigned covers, updated pictures and a selection of new charming hotels. There's nothing like planning a holiday to flush out the winter blues.

Another new title is 150 Great Walks, created by our current editor, Helen Fanthorpe. This collection of themed walks in a loose-leaf binder has been on sale since August, and is doing nicely.

With the new year also comes some changes to the team at Duncan Petersen. As we prepare to say goodbye to our current editors, we look forward to welcoming Natasha Lodge as books editor and Giulia Sgarbi as web editor. On the website, our outgoing web editor Tom Fleming has significantly improved our rankings on social media – keep a look out for Charming Travel on facebook and Twitter.

  1. Hi and thanks for the book "150 great walks in britain". Just wondering if there is any way to get electronic version of the maps for the different routes (e.g. Kml) Some walks are difficult to plan only with the description. Cheers

  2. Are you aware that there are people on Facebook horrified that you are directing walkers through private land?

  3. I really like you post,Thanks for your sharing.
